Another victory

I apologize for all of the weight loss posts. It seems that it is all I have to talk about. But, it has become a huge part of our lives. I debated on waiting to post this until tomorrow, but darn it... I'm SO EXCITED!!! I am back down to a size 16!! I haven't been a size 16 since high school! Not only that... my foot shrunk! I have always had clown feet in a size 10. I am proud to say I am down to a 9.5. Oh, the joys of weight loss! I'll update you on our weekly weigh in tomorrow. Thanks for the support! It makes this process a lot easier.

Another Non-Scale Victory

So, I have this jacket that Brad got me for Christmas about 5 years ago. I love it but only wore it for about a year before I grew out of it. I couldn't throw it away, because like I said... I love it! Well, I slipped it on this morning to see if it fit and ... it DID!!! I'm stoked!! The picture isn't great, but you get the idea.

Today was a good day!

Wow! What a day! I hope my week stays up like this! Here is a quick synopsis of my day.

1. I lost 1.6 pounds for a total of 56.8!
2. Brad lost 5 pounds (!!!) for a total of 72 pounds!
3. I got to show off my new car.
4. I found out that my grant got funded so I can get two Kindle Fires for my classroom, plus $100 gift card for books.

I made some turkey burgers for the first time and they were pretty tasty. Usually Brad cooks them. He did help a bit.

Our New Car

Well, after years of talking about it, we finally traded in our Equinox. We have had several problems with our car and kept dumping a lot of money into it. After a lot of internet research, we bought a 2012 Toyota Camry XLE. It has every feature a girl could want!

A sunroof....

An amazing audio panel, which accesses my iPhone through bluetooth technology. Makes for safe, hands free talking and driving. Plus, we can access weather, sports, stocks, etc. We also have HD radio and a backup camera.

Leather Interior

We wanted heated seats. We didn't get them. But, the wonderful people at Atkinson Toyota want us to be over the top happy. So, they are getting heated seats for us... for free!

This is the color. Technically, it is Cosmic Grey Mica. It looks black unless you are in the sun. In the sun, it looks like this. We think it looks like the Jacksonville Jaguar's helmets.

And here it is.... our beauty!

I have wanted a Camry since I started researching cars. When we drove it, we fell in love with it! I am so excited to have this brand new car, even though it means going back to a car payment.

Week 13 update

Another great weigh in!! Brad lost 6 pounds for a total of 67.4 elbees!! I lost another 4.8 (almost 5!!) for a total of 55.4 elbees!!

Some NSV's:
-Brad is in a size that he doesn't remember wearing... EVER!
-My tight sweat pants have become my baggy sweat pants
- I am comfortable sitting in a booth and don't feel smooshed!

Other than dieting, life is good! We have started car shopping, which makes me very happy. I will keep you updated.

Week 12 Update

Can I just tell you how much I love this program?? I have never been successful at weight loss, at least not like I have on Medifast. Plus, it's easy! I grab a meal and eat without thinking. I haven't had any cravings or been hungry at all. It's amazing. If you are looking for a healthy solution to lose weight, let me know and I will get you some information. Okay, on with the update. :)

We had company last week and ate out a lot. We still ate on plan, but didn't lose as much because of the sodium. But, that's okay. We still lost. Well, this week made up for it.

Brad lost 13 pounds this week for a total of 60.8 pounds!!!
I lost 3.6 pounds for a total of 50 pounds!!

My goal was to lose 50 pounds before going back to work. Brad was in shock at his weight loss. He stepped on the scale 4 times. He still doesn't believe it and is going to weigh again tomorrow.

We have also had some Non-Scale Victories (NSV's)

  • I can wear jewelry (rings and watches) that were too small
  • My size is back in the teens
  • Seeing people that we haven't seen in a while can notice a difference
  • When I got a massage the other day, I wasn't hanging off of the table
  • Going through our closet never felt so good
  • Curves... in a good way. No longer a blob
I am sure there are more, but I can't think of them quite yet this morning. In other news, Brad got a pentakill in his video game. He is very excited about it and mentions is frequently. If you know Brad, you know that he doesn't get excited about much. It's been very cute to watch. He is like a little kid.

Okay, sorry for the long post. I had to share our success on Medifast and how great the program is.

Too much time on my hands

Winter break is almost over. I have done a lot of relaxing and crafting. I made the two items pictured below today. I am going to a conference tomorrow for 2nd grade teachers. I am extra prepared. I have my handouts printed and separated by dividers. I have my notebook ready. My medifast food is packed. All I have to do is pack my clothes. It should be fun!

New Year... New Goals

So every year I have the same resolution and this year is probably the first year I actually kept it. Lose weight. blah! Story of my life. However, this year I have a different outlook. I am already down 46 pounds and feeling a lot better! I know I can get the rest off with determination and Medifast. I am realizing that carbs are not my friend... no wonder I got to the size I did. I LOVE carbs!

My other resolution last year was to bring less work home. I didn't master this until the end of the year. Fortunately, I came home at Christmas break with NO WORK! I went to school for one day for 3 hours and that's it! If it's not done... it can wait.

So, other than lose weight, I have a few others.

1. Craft something once a week
2. Write a journal entry once a week (this one is really hard for me!)
3. Cook more- I maybe cook once a week. I have a wonderful hubby that likes to cook and is good at it!
4. Brush my dog more- poor thing sheds so much.
5. Add exercise to my healthier self!
6. I really want to do the Avon Breast Cancer walk but it's in April- not sure if I will be ready for a 3 day walk by then, but maybe for 2013.

I think that's a good start. We'll see how this year goes. I'm hoping for big, well actually little things this year. I'm praying that God makes those things possible and gives me the strength I need. 2012 is going to be a good year!
